Capos

I build my own capos because standard free-swinging capos never felt stable enough for my playing. During pull-offs, hammer-ons, and more expressive techniques, I wanted a capo that stays firmly in place and feels like part of the instrument.

Rather than simply clamping onto the strings, my capo rests securely against the neck. As a result, playing with the capo feels much closer to playing directly at the nut. This creates a stable foundation for the strings and helps transfer vibration into the instrument, improving sustain, tone, and overall reliability.

Each capo is handmade from brass and designed for instruments with the right string setup. When the fit is right, it offers a solid, precise, and musical alternative to standard capos.

FACTS AND FEATURES

Easy one-handed use

The design is sleek and perfectly engineered. The bar locking mechanism is simplistic yet totally perfect for the job. It does up and releases with one hand and just works effortlessly. The clamping bar has a quality rubber dampening cover to pinch down on the strings and lock them firmly onto the brass block. It has a rubber (or felt) base to grip or protect your finger board.

For optimal performance, my capo requires a nearly parallel string height between the 2nd and 9th fret, as shown in the picture.

If the string height differs by more than 1 mm between these frets, the capo may lose contact with the fretboard when used higher up the neck and may bounce while playing. In that case, I recommend using a commercially available standard capo.

If your instrument is within the required range, my custom handmade brass capo offers a precise, stable, and high-quality alternative to conventional capos.
